'BJP conspiracy to defame Bengal': Abhishek Banerjee on Sandeshkhali row
The Samajwadi Party (SP) has quelled speculations surrounding Akhilesh Yadav's candidacy in the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj by nominating Tej Pratap Yadav, Akhilesh's nephew, as its candidate. The announcement came with the release of another list of candidates, revealing Tej Pratap Yadav's selection for the Kannauj constituency, while Sanatan Pandey secured the ticket from Ballia. Tej Pratap Yadav, the nephew of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, previously served as an MP from the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat and holds familial ties to the Yadav political legacy.
Tej Pratap Yadav, born on November 21, 1987, boasts a political lineage and educational background that includes studies at Colonel Brown Cambridge School in Dehradun and Delhi Public School in Noida, followed by an MBA from Leeds University Business School. His father, Ranveer Singh Yadav, who passed away at a young age, had also been involved in political affairs, having served as a block chief. Tej Pratap Yadav's mother, Mridula Yadav, currently holds the position of block chief in Saifai, further enriching his political lineage. Tej Pratap Yadav's previous stint as an SP MP from Mainpuri from 2014 to 2019 adds weight to his candidature, backed by his familial ties and political experience.
